PROJET PILOTE POUR LE MISSION LAÏQUE "MLF MONDE"

Jacques Majorelle School (3 years)

Pilot project in Ecology and Sustainable Development (ESD) with the Jacques Majorelle school group over 3 years.

The objective:

Develop an ESD pilot project with food production tools, create tools for acquiring the foundation of the school program through concrete activities. The goal is not to overload the school curriculum but to replace certain ways of learning (sitting in front of a blackboard) with active and concrete learning based on doing.

More than 800 children trained over 3 years:

Functioning :

- 20 interventions with students over the year from September to July,

- 2 educational project design sessions,

- 2 preliminary meetings with the teaching team,

- 2 mid-term meetings to discuss and adapt,

- 1 review meeting.

Project logistics:

Maintenance, planting, harvesting by children and teachers with the support of two gardeners, 4 hours per week.

Annual project budget:

- 6000 € (details on request)

Unfolding of my 3 years of mission (nursery / primary and middle school):

Year 1

Launch of a small food production plot (80m²).
Harvest, tasting on site, awakening the senses, reconnecting with vegetables.
Wheat sowing and the bread cycle.

Year 2

Launch of a new 200m² plot at the primary school.
Opening of a permaculture club at the college on 75m².
Vegetable production.
Food production and launch of vegetable sales to parents.

Year 3

New plot in the primary playground of 200m².
New plot at the college of 75m².
Seed production project .
Launch of a bimonthly organic market for the parents.
Creation of a circular economy with the sale of vegetables.

In three years: 6 educational gardens have been created, they represent an area of 650m² (2 gardens in nursery school, 2 in primary and 2 in college).
